Vintage Fajalauza pottery bowls.
A pair of small Spanish terracotta bowls decorated with a pomegranate motif and free-flowing borders in teal green and cobalt blue against a bright white glaze.
Handmade in Granada, Spain with a slightly rustic aesthetic and lovely for dips and nibbles.
The Fajalauza pottery style has been documented to the 16th century and takes its name from the Puerta de Fajalauza (Fajalauza Gate) within the city wall of Grenada.
Approximately 6.5cm tall and 14.5cm across the top of the bowl.
Very good vintage condition with air bubbles to the glaze. One bowl has a small glaze chip to the edge of the rim and the other has an underglaze paint miss, also to the rim (as shown in the photographs)
All our pieces have a past and may feature age-related marks which we believe add to their charm. If you have any questions about this item or would like to see further photographs, please do get in touch.
