Rare Shelf Pottery dish with a chunky, square shape and circular centre.
Created in stoneware with a chocolate brown glaze and a hand applied ridged pattern to the top. Brutalist style piece dating to the c1970s or 1980s.
Created by Shelf Pottery of Halifax, with a maker's sticker, but very different to their usual style. Possibly an experimental/test piece.
Approximately 3.5cm tall and 10.5cm in width/length.
Excellent vintage condition with some light scratches. Natural colour differences in the glaze with a lighter patch to the circular bowl.
