Hand painted Spanish wall plate with a hugely characterful design of a fish in thickly applied slip. Scraffito marks add detail to the fins and scales.
The plate is formed in terracotta with a rainbow coloured fish painted in shades of blue, purple, green, pink, orange and yellow against a pale creamy-yellow background.
Unsigned. Likely Puigdemont from Spain. Hanging holes to the reverse.
Approximately 23.5cm in diameter.
Very good vintage condition with crazing and small nibbles to the glaze. Scuffs to the edge of the plate, as shown in the photographs.
