A pair of vintage Bulgarian plates in terracotta clay decorated in shades of brown, black, sand and emerald green. Finished with a clear glossy glaze.
The swirling design with 'peacocks eye' element is distinctive of traditional Bulgarian Troyan Pottery and is created using a wheel with paint applied by hand as the wheel turns.
For decorative use with hanging holes to the reverse.
Both plates are approximately 18.5cm in diameter.
Very good vintage condition with some light scuffs and scratches.
