Rare vintage studio pottery candle holder by Rothenburger Keramik with a short socket and sweeping handle.
Rustic appearance and formed in creamy-coloured clay with a royal blue and burnt orange abstract dotted design.
Handmade with impressed mark to the base: Rothenburger Keramik K-Ehler
Approximately 5.5cm tall and 12cm in diameter. There's a 2.3cm diameter opening for the candle (with a fairly shallow socket).
Rustic vintage condition with numerous marks, particularly to the socket. Various little chips appear to be under the glaze and dating to the time of production, see photographs. Please note, the socket is quite shallow so this works best with shorter candle 'stubs' for safety.
