Spanish Fajalauza Pottery planter.
Vintage hanging plant pot from Granada in Spain with hand-painted floral motifs in cobalt blue and emerald green against a white background.
Shaped ceramic hanging loop to the back allowing the pot to be hung against a garden wall; it is also self-standing.
Granada is the Spanish term for pomegranate and the fruit features as the central motif on the planter. Fajalauza pottery meanwhile takes its name from the Puerta de Fajalauza (Fajalauza Gate) within the city wall of Granada.
Approximately 11cm tall to the top of the planter (14 to the top of the hanging loop) and 12.5cm wide across the top.
Very good vintage condition with some crazing and light scratches. Marks to the interior from use. Slightly rustic style.
All our pieces have a past and may feature age-related marks which we believe add to their charm. If you have any questions about this item or would like to see further photographs, please do get in touch.
