A pair of African candle holders dating to the mid 20th century with open barley twist stems.
Hand-carved in dark wood (possibly ebony), each candlestick has three twisting wood strands with flat circular bases.
Approximately 24.5cm tall with a 7.5cm diameter base. There's a 2cm diameter taper candle opening.
Very good vintage condition with light scratches and a couple of very small chips to the wood. Repair to a split in the wood undertaken at the time the candlesticks were carved (shown in the photographs).
