Abstract Slip Ware Pitcher

Abstract design vintage slip ware pitcher.

In the most beautiful autumnal colours this rustic terracotta wine jug has a simple pinched spout and characterful twin-glazed finish.

The lower half of the jug is painted dark brown and retains the rough texture of the clay underneath. The upper body and interior is coated in a thick and glossy dark-treacle glaze with abstract caramel dribbles.

Likely from France or Spain.

Lovely as a decorative piece or as a vase for dried flowers.

Approximately 19cm tall and 16cm wide from the handle to the belly of the jug.

Aged and rustic vintage condition with scuffs, marks and slight imperfections.
