Vintage terracotta pitcher from Chile.
Hand-crafted Chilean folk art vessel painted with Andean designs including a wave motif in bold black paint. Unglazed with a gorgeous raw texture and rich colours.
The jug references pre-Colombian pottery of the Diaguita tribe of Chile and Argentina. It was likely made around the mid century, 1970s or 1980s by a village craft collective to be sold at artisan markets.
Signed to the base: P. Millav P.
Approximately 13.5cm tall and 13cm in diameter at its widest.
Aged vintage condition with marks, little knocks and imperfections. The piece has been left as it was found to retain patina.
All our pieces have a past and may feature age-related marks which we believe add to their charm. If you have any questions about this item or would like to see further photographs, please do get in touch.
