Vintage folk art jug from Chile.

Beautiful Chilean zoomorphic Jarro Pato (duck pitcher) vessel. Hand-crafted in terracotta clay and painted with Andean designs which have scratched and faded. It has a beautiful raw texture and rich colours.

The piece references pre-Colombian pottery of the Diaguita tribe of Chile and Argentina. It was likely made around the mid century, 1970s or 1980s by a village craft collective to be sold at artisan markets.

Signed to the base: P. Millav P.

Approximately 12cm tall, 15cm wide and 11.5cm in depth.

Aged vintage condition with marks and imperfections. The piece has been left as it was found to retain patina.

All our pieces have a past and may feature age-related marks which we believe add to their charm. If you have any questions about this item or would like to see further photographs, please do get in touch.
