Alsace pottery cake mould.
Vintage French Soufflenhim baking mould with a thick hand-painted design of dots and swirls against a light brown base.
This is a traditional ceramic baking mould for a Kougelhopf/Kouglof cake - a ring pan bread cake made with raisins and almonds and hardened with yeast. Distinctive of the Soufflenheim village in the Alsace region of France.
Lovely for wall display and has a hanging hole.
Approximately 8.5cm tall and 14cm in diameter across the base.
Very good vintage condition with light scratches and crazing to the glaze.
All our pieces have a past and may feature age-related marks which we believe add to their charm. If you have any questions about this item or would like to see further photographs, please do get in touch.
