Vintage terracotta pitcher from Alcobaca in Portugal.
Hand thrown jug in beautiful rich terracotta clay with a hand painted design of delicate white swirls and dots around linear black bands.
The white paint is thickly applied adding texture to the piece. Finished with a clear glossy glaze.
Stamped to the base: Alcobaca, Made in Portugal, 128.
Approximately 19cm tall and 17cm wide from the belly of the jug to the handle.
Very good vintage condition with light scuffs and imperfections. There's a small chip to the base which likely dates to the time of manufacture.
