Vintage 1930s Norwegian pewter dish.
Rare hand-hammered pewter dish designed and made in the 1930s by Josef Kussius.
Beautiful handmade decorative bowl or tray that could be used as a fruit dish or catch-all.
Born in Germany in 1892, Josef Kussius was a designer and blacksmith known for producing steel tube chairs and tables from his Metal Goods Factory (Metallvarefabrikk) near Oslo in Norway. His work is featured in the National Museum of Norway.
Approximately 2.5cm tall, 27cm long and 17cm wide.
Engraved with Kussius's mark to reverse and text: Tinn Handhammret 2255
Very good vintage condition with some warping to the edges of the tray. Left unpolished to retain patina and sense of age.
All our pieces have a past and may feature age-related marks which we believe add to their charm. If you have any questions about this item or would like to see further photographs, please do get in touch.
