Antique Wedgwood green leaf plate.

Beautiful Victorian majolica plate by Wedgwood in dark emerald green with textured design to the leaf. Dates to the late 1800s.

Ideal for display on a wall as part of a collection of vintage and antique plates.

The plate reverse features Wedgwood's impressed three letter code (FGD) with the word Wedgwood. The plate is most likely from the first series of codes created by Wedgwood as, although the code sequences were repeated, the word England was not added to pieces until 1891 and is not present here. This should date the plate to February 1875.

Impressed to the base: FGD, Wedgwood

Approximately 20cm in diameter.

Very good antique condition with some small scuffs/nibbles to the glaze, particularly the raised areas of the design and a tiny glaze chip to the edge. Some tiny repairs (small dots) to the plate with green clay.

All our pieces have a past and may feature age-related marks which we believe add to their charm. If you have any questions about this item or would like to see further photographs, please do get in touch.
