Large antique stoneware jar by George Skey of Wilnecote.

Larger sized rustic stoneware crock pot with a putty-coloured body, light brown top and glossy glaze. A small decorative border surrounds the top of the jar.

Manufactured by George Skey in Tamworth, England and stamped just above the base.

Ideal for storing utensils, a pot of herbs or as a vase.

Dating to the Victorian era, this large antique pot would have been used to store household ingredients, the top covered with cloth or paper and tied with string.

Approximately 19.5cm tall and 15cm diameter across the base, the opening is 8.5cm in diameter.

Excellent condition with a bright and clean interior. Small knocks, scratches and various little marks and imperfections. The jar has been scrubbed and bleached.

All our pieces have a past and may feature age-related marks which we believe add to their charm. If you have any questions about this item or would like to see further photographs, please do get in touch.
