Ceramic ball-shaped match strike or table vesta in neutral brown Derbyshire clay with a textured striker surface covering the full exterior. Circular cavity to hold matches.
Shown with extra long matches. Strike anywhere matches would be needed as the striking surface is not suitable for lighting modern safety matches.
Impressed backstamp to the base with text: Lovatt, Langley Mill, England
Approximately 7cm tall and 8.5cm in diameter at its widest.
Excellent antique condition with scratches and light marks.
