Beautiful ceramic match striker or table vesta by Carlton Ware dating to the late 19th or early 20th century.
White ribbed striker with cavity to hold matches and a sage green base / dish for spent matches.
Shown with extra long matches. Strike anywhere matches would be needed as the striking surface is not suitable for lighting modern safety matches.
Stamped to the base with Carlton Ware's earlier crown mark which dates the striker to c1894-c1926.
Approximately 7cm tall and 11cm in diameter across the base.
Very good antique condition with a small crack to the interior top of the striker and imperfections in the glaze to the base from the time of production.
