Antique Victorian brass pestle and mortar.
Aged and heavy brass mortar with tapering form and flared top and shaped pestle. Likely originating from a 19th century apothecary or pharmacy / chemist's store.
Left unpolished to retain patina but could be cleaned to bring back to use as a spice grinder.
Etched to the base with the name: James Goode.
The mortar is approximately 8.5cm tall and 11cm in diameter across the top. The pestle is approximately 15cm long.
Aged antique condition with numerous marks, dings, scuffs and scratches. Some warping to the base as photographed.
All our pieces have a past and may feature age-related marks which we believe add to their charm. If you have any questions about this item or would like to see further photographs, please do get in touch.
