A beautiful semi-porcelain tureen with two handles and a matching ladle with a dark, greenish-blue transferware design.
Manufactured by J.H. Weatherby & Sons of Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent and featuring the Waverley design.
The tureen is likely to be Victorian or Edwardian. It dates from between 1892 to 1925 when 'Falconware' was added to the JHW & Sons backstamp.
Stamped to the base: Waverley, Durability, JHW & Sons, Made in England, Semi-Porcelain.
The tureen is approximately 7cm tall, 21.5cm in length and 13cm wide. The ladle is approximately 20cm long.
Excellent antique condition with some small scuffs and little imperfections dating to manufacture. No crazing and wonderfully bright and clean throughout.
