Antique Wedgwood candlesticks.

A stunning pair of dark blue Jasperware candlesticks with a white classical relief design and white borders.

The imagery includes beautiful Grecian inspired female figures standing in a garden amongst trees, one playing a lyre and another holding a fan. Both candlesticks also depict a male figure - a philosopher or thinker holding a human head.

Quite a rare find and a wonderful addition to any Wedgwood collection.

Impressed to the base with the words: Wedgwood England. They likely date to the late Victorian period or early 20th century, certainly later than 1891 when the word England was added to the Wedgwood backstamp.

Approximately 15.5cm tall, 10cm in diameter across the base and 5.5cm in diameter across the top.

Excellent condition appropriate to age. Some darkening/greying to the white borders to the top and bottom of the shaft. Light marks and scratches.

All our pieces have a past and may feature age-related marks which we believe add to their charm. If you have any questions about this item or would like to see further photographs, please do get in touch.
